I am Rugilė Penno.
I write personal essays, fragments, reflections, and symbolic stories about memory, language, family, Lithuanian roots, nature, death, humour, and the useful art of writing things down.
A recurring figure in my writing is Gilė, which means acorn in Lithuanian. An acorn is small, but it contains a tree. I like that kind of symbol: ordinary, compact, alive with hidden meaning.
My writing often begins with something small: a word, a walk, a gravestone, a plant, an old story, a mistake, a correction, or a thought that refuses to leave quietly.
Writing helps me see my thoughts more clearly. It helps me notice patterns, understand memories, and turn experience into meaning.
This site is my writing home.
